l adore a good cup of tea.

Must be tea leaves, not tea bags. Pot must be warmed first and left to brew for a good 3-4 minutes.

My Nanna made this little squirrel for me when l was a youngin. I'm impressed with myself on how I've managed to keep him in such good condition without really trying. He's been thrown into every toy box and has sat a numerous book shelves.

He is hand-made from felt and doesn't look a day over 3 - although he is about 33!

I love country markets.

There is a little town about 20kms drive from Wonthaggi in Victoria and they have the most amazing market every Sunday. Most of it is second-hand vintage treasures, with some organic friut and vege thrown into the mix.

Here is one treasure l picked up last weekend. A 1950's vintage print of the Amalfi Coast.

Mum l LOVE you! Christmas was splendid and so were these little retro herb tins you gave me. They sit on my kitchen shelve and beam happily in the morning sunshine.

We've just returned from our Christmas holidays. (blah!)
I'm recovering from long hours of driving in a hot car, but it is most certainly worth it when you visit such cute country towns with fabulous vintage buys.

London Calling

London holds a fond place in my heart.

As every Aussie does l packed my bags and lived in old London town for nearly two years. It was a very small stay compared to others, l have friends who have never returned home.

When you back-pack there is hardly any room for trinkets and mementos so whenever l see something that reminds me of London l grab it. Here are a few pieces I've picked up over the years from garage sales, op-shops and markets.

l know these lovely little bottles are a "dime a dozen" and you can usually find them collecting dust in any busy Op Shop, but l just couldn't resist. Made in Japan the detail is amazing and is another prized possession in my home.

Pretty Coffee

I've never used these. I'd hate to break them. Made in France these little gems were spotted in a Carlton Op Shop. Originally when l first saw them l didn't buy them. l returned home and all l could think about were these cute little floral cups. Crazy l know. So the next morning l dashed down to the Op Shop hoping they were still there.

It was meant to be. There they were, still sitting on the dusty shelve waiting for me to take them home!

Before l lay me down to Sleep

l don't know about you but l have an Op Shop system.

First port of call is the 'book' section, after scanning all the shelves l slide on over to 'manchester' and rummage through all the plastic tubs of linen. And then of course it's over to (Op Shop heaven) the bric-a-brac shelves.

Vintage Pillowcases are high on my list at the moment. l really can not get enough!

Thought l'd share just some of my findings which may l add are from all over Australia!

Talkin bout my Plate Addiction

Here are two of the MANY plates l have collected over the years.

These little gems were picked up at a clearance sale. A shop was closing down in Collingwood years ago and l couldn't resist.

They hang in my laundry and give it ye-olde feel.

Sweet French Perfume

l rescued these fabulous bottles. They were bound for the Op shop.

Much to my disgust my own mother was having a clean up and l intercepted a box bound for her local charity shop. How dare she throw out such goodies without consulting me!

The Chanel Perfume dates back to the 70's. The perfume still remains but has gone off, but l love the bottle which is in perfect condition. As for the Dior, the perfume has never been used and is in fabulous condition - this also dates back to the late 70's.

Mum's not really into perfume and has had these sitting on her bedside table for years and one day just decided to throw them out.

Lucky l was around to grab them. Now she shows me everything before she turfs it out.

They take pride of place in my bathroom and every time l look at them they remind me of mum.

Who is Suki?

A country gal at heart who now lives in the big smoke.

What is Suki About?

l adore everything second hand, pre-loved and vintage. No Op Shop, Antique Store, Garage Sale, Trash 'n' Treasure Market or Car boot Sale is safe. I'm there first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon perusing dusty shelves, grubby garages and over flowing boxes of pre-loved goodies.

It's been a hobby of mine for over 15 years. Over this time I've collected trinkets, bric a-brac, books, clothes, toys, fabric and much more. l thought it's time to share with you my crazy obsession!

My husband thinks l'm crazy and you might think so to, but my theory is if someone else has loved it so can l.
